The Star is an extremely rare apple parer and slicer patented by Calvin A. Foster of Fitchburg, Massachusetts on July 11, 1871. The parer is marked STAR SLICER & PARER MFGD. BY FOSTER & COTTON LEOMINSTER, MASS. PAT. JULY 11, 1871. The Star is a turntable parer that pares the apple in one continuous motion.
